Ellie Goulding X Nike

Posted on: January 14, 2014

When she's not touring the world with her best-selling albums, hanging out with Katy Perry and Lorde or most recently, turning heads in the front row at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding is all about staying fit. So it’s no surprise that the super-toned Brit beauty — who already has five half marathons under her belt — is starring in Nike’s latest campaign.

A fitness addict since age 18 when she first picked up running, Goulding has been tapped as the face of the brand’s newest collection, which runs the gamut from a cropped sleeveless top ($40) to print-saturated stretch leggings ($150). “I feel quite proud to be an ambassador for women who realize that being fit is better than being skinny,” said the 28-year-old on Nike’s website. “I have to be fit to do all the things I want to on stage,” she added, counting everything from Bikram to boxing amongst the calorie-blasting activities which help her stay svelte.

As part of the collaboration, Goulding has also spearheaded a new workout for the Nike + Training Club app, which helps users attain their fitness goals with free access to instructor-driven routines and experts. Making its debut on March 2, Goulding’s high-octane 15-minute “Get Lean” workout highlights the singer’s favorite high and low-intensity workouts.

“Having a yin and yang with exercise is the important thing for me,” noted Goulding, who, in addition to training for her next half marathon, is also focused on her next album. “Doing something different every day keeps things fresh.”
